PLOT SYNOPSIS

When an evil spore is awakened by global warming after lying dormant for eons beneath an ancient ice field, a horrific plague ravages mankind, sending Meadow (JOVANNAH NICHOLSON) on the run from crumbling civilization. She gets a lift from a stranger, notices the driver is gruesomely infected, and escapes, taking refuge in an abandoned cabin… but is it abandoned? Now, ten strangers attempt to evade the madness in a small town, with some succumbing to the hideously mutating fungus – and claiming the survivors as their bitter prey.

SPECIAL FEATURES – 2¼/5

For a direct-to-video release, a good surprise I suppose to get anything. Includes an Audio Commentary by Producer/Writer/Director D.M. Cunningham & Producers Keith Golinski and Brian Hillard, The Spore: Random Acts of Filmmaking and the Trailer.

VIDEO – 3¾/5, AUDIO – 3½/5

Being this is a super low budget horror film, I will say the video presentation, shown with a 2.35 widescreen aspect ratio, doesn’t look half bad while the included Dolby Digital 5.1 track has decent enough dialogue levels and so-so depth.
