THE RELEASE |
The Los Angeles Dodgers 2020 World Series Collector’s Edition includes all six complete games of the World Series against the Tampa Bay Rays and two bonus discs featuring the pennant-clinching NLCS Game 7 versus the Atlanta Braves and NLDS Game 3 against the San Diego Padres – both games in their entirety. The Dodgers were widely recognized as contenders to win the World Series in 2020 after two recent close calls, and they would deliver during a unique 60-game regular season and expanded Postseason format. Manager Dave Roberts guided his squad to first place in the NL West Division, and the Dodgers entered the Postseason with a stellar 43-17 record. They quickly swept the Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Wild Card series and the San Diego Padres in the NLDS. In the NLCS, the Atlanta Braves would press the Dodgers, going ahead 3 games to 1 before Los Angeles returned to championship form with a 3-game winning streak to claim the National League pennant. In the World Series, the Dodgers faced the Tampa Bay Rays at a natural site, the new Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. The Rays were the only other team with at least 40 wins during the regular season, and their toughness showed during a see-saw affair in the first four games of the Fall Classic. Knotted at two games each, the Dodgers would jump on the Rays early to put away game 5 and then strike late in game 6 to lay claim to the Commissioner’s Trophy for the seventh time in franchise history. |
