Well Go USA releases God of War onto Blu-ray presented with a 2.39 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer which features sharp detail and colors, including the blood red during the war sequences, are vibrant even given the darker tones with being a war movie. The film includes both a Chinese language DTS:X (decodes to DTS-HD MA 7.1) and Dolby Digital Stereo tracks and while the former isn’t exceptional, the war sequences is filled with good depth with gunfire and general wartime action.

OVERALL – 2.5/5

Overall, God of War isn’t a great war film but the action and fight sequences were well shot by action director Gordon Chan and the lead performance from Vincent Zhao was well balanced. Although not quite my kind of movie, it’s worth a watch for those interested in the subject.
