PLOT SYNOPSIS
|
Six follows members of Navy SEAL Team Six, modern American warriors whose mission to eliminate a Taliban leader in Afghanistan goes awry when they uncover a U.S. citizen working with the terrorists. Inspired by real missions, the series authentically captures the inside world of America’s elite special operations unit, when these SEALs do, their personal lives, combat, and the life-and-death decisions they make. |
SPECIAL FEATURES – 0/5 |
No features were included. This release comes with a matted slip cover and a redemption code for the Digital HD copy. |
VIDEO – 4.0/5 |
Lionsgate releases Six onto Blu-ray presented in its originally televised 1.78 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer. Colors are more on the drab side considering many scenes take place in the deserts of Afghanistan but detail is still fairly sharp. |
AUDIO – 4.25/5 |
The disc comes with a somewhat robust DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track that takes full advantage of the war-centric scenes such as the one at the start of the series. The quieter moments though also sound good with crisp, clear and clean dialogue levels coming from the center speaker while ambient noises and off-screen elements being relegated to the rear channels. |
OVERALL – 3.5/5 |
Overall, Six is a well made mini-series featuring well choreographed war-time fight sequences and respectable performances top-lined by character actor Walton Goggins. This 2-disc release from Lionsgate is rather basic with no features but the video and audio transfers were both well done. |
