Review: 600 Miles DVD

Slow and drawn out in spite of its short running time, 600 Miles isn’t great but at least can be admired for the performances by Tim Roth and Kristyan Ferrer so at least with them it’s worth watching.

PLOT SYNOPSIS

Amulfo Rubio (KRISTYAN FERRER), a young man trafficking guns between the United States and Mexico, is being followed by ATF agent Hank Harris (TIM ROTH). After a risky mistake by Harris, Rubio makes a desperate decision: he smuggles the agent into Mexico. And while these two apparent enemies slowly connect, they reach a dangerous place. And the only way out will be by trusting each other.

600 Miles is presented with an anamorphic widescreen transfer (1.78 aspect ratio) with subdued colors in keeping with the locale and genre. The included Dolby Digital 5.1 track is decent enough offering clear dialogue with some minimal use of the front and rear channels for the music/score.

Overall, slow and drawn out in spite of its short running time, 600 Miles isn’t great but at least can be admired for the performances by Tim Roth and Kristyan Ferrer so at least with them it’s worth watching. The DVD released through Lionsgate has OK video and audio and basically no features.
