Loyal British knight Wilfred of Ivanhoe (ROBERT TAYLOR) sets out on a mission to free the kidnapped King of England, Richard the Lionheart (NORMAN WOOLAND), in this rousing adventure tale. The brave Ivanhoe must eventually confront the devious Prince John (GUY ROLFE) and the fierce Norman warrior Brian de Bois-Guilbert (GEORGE SANDERS), while also juggling the affections of the beautiful maidens Rowena (JOAN FONTAINE) and Rebecca (ELIZABETH TAYLOR).

Along with the Theatrical Trailer, there’s also the Academy Award-winning cartoon, Tom and Jerry.

Warner Bros. releases Ivanhoe onto Blu-ray where it’s shown in its original 1.37 full frame aspect ratio and given a new 1080p high-definition transfer via the Warner Archive Collection line. Detail for the most part looks great, with some nice sharpness throughout and colors nicely balanced. There were no noticeable signs of aliasing, artifacting, dust marks, scratches or other ailments to the picture.

As with most of the Warner Archive’s older releases, this too comes with a DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono track, which does provide for some clear dialogue and there is some modest enough dept for a singular track and there were no noticeable instances of pops or hisses.
