When lawyer and aspiring politician Adam Shaw (EDMUND PURDOM) meets Athena Mulvain (JANE POWELL), she claims the stars tell her they will marry. However, Adam is already engaged to socialite Beth. Furthermore, Adam is confused by Athena’s unusual family, which includes six other sisters raised in an extremely health-conscious environment that excludes meat, smoking and alcohol. Gradually, Adam is slowly won over by Athena, even at the detriment of his political future.

Features aren’t entirely plentiful, but there are 3 Outtake Musical Numbers: “Competition Dance,” “Imagine (Second Reprise)” and “Love Can Change the Stars (Duet Reprise”; plus the Theatrical Trailer.

VIDEO – 4¾/5, AUDIO – 4¾/5

Athena arrives on Blu-ray through the Warner Archive Collection and presented with a 1.75 widescreen aspect ratio and given a new 1080p high-definition transfer. As with most of these Warner titles, the picture looks great, detail throughout is sharp and colors vibrant but still in keeping with the time period. I did not notice any significant flaws like dust marks, specs or scratches.

The included DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Stereo track showcases the musical numbers as well as outputting clear dialogue through the right and left speakers. As lossless stereo tracks go, it’s a very well done soundtrack.
