Crash isn’t a movie I found all that great though my interest was mainly for some of the controversy and honestly as strange as the “plot” and characters were, it’s not that out of bounds at least nowadays.

Severin provided me with a free copy of the Blu-ray I reviewed in this Blog Post.
The opinions I share are my own.

From producer Harry Novak comes the sickie about a pair of L.A.P.D. detectives (JOHN KIRKPATRICK, FRANK BANNON) hunting a transvestite psychopath through a polyester jungle of massage parlor perverts, suburban sex fiends and violence-crazed cops.

Included are two Short Films titled “The Pepper” comprised of outtakes and three Trailers. In addition, the sleeve is reversible.

VIDEO – 3¾/5

A Scream in the Streets arrives on Blu-ray for the first time courtesy of Severin Films and presented with two options on aspect ratio: 1.85 and 1.33. The 1080p high-definition transfer was taken from a new 2K uncut scan from the original negative and for the most part the picture does look pretty good especially for a basically no-budget production. There was plenty of film damage in spots, including scratches, tears and dust spots, however it’s not all bad as the detail was fairly sharp and colors were fairly vibrant for the time period when this was filmed.

AUDIO – 4/5

The disc comes with a relatively impressive DTS-HD Master Audio Mono track. Although this is a crime-drama (with extreme sex and nudity), there’s not a whole lot to judge here, dialogue comes across with good clarity as do the sensual moments and, of course, screams. The track is also clean, free of any major instances of pops or hisses.

Check out some more 1080p screen caps by going to page 2. Please note, these do contain spoilers.
