Results is a quirky if not uneven romantic comedy with a couple fine performances, particularly Kevin Corrigan and Guy Pearce. The writing isn’t the best and by the end I can’t say it’s very memorable either way. The Blu-ray released by Magnolia is basic with slim bonus material and good video/audio transfers.

PLOT SYNOPSIS
A love triangle develops out of a momentous trip to the gym. Danny (KEVIN CORRIGAN) is newly divorced, newly wealthy, and totally aimless. In an effort to add structure to his life, he joins a gym where he meets self-styled guru/owner Trevor (GUY PEARCE) and quickly falls for his audacious new trainer, Kat (COBIE SMULDERS), who happens to be Trevor’s ex-flame. VIDEO – 4.25/5
Magnolia releases Results onto Blu-ray presented with a 1.85 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer. The picture itself isn’t too bad with good detail especially with close-up shots and skin tones appeared natural. Given the comedic tone, it is a bright looking transfer but doesn’t seem blown out or artificially pumped up.
AUDIO – 4.0/5
The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track is serviceable but nothing overly noteworthy. Dialogue for the most part was clear though there was somewhat of an echo in certain scenes probably due to the location for the recording than anything to do with the transfer. The bulk of the audio comes from the center channel with minimal usage of the front and, especially, rear channels.
OVERALL – 2.5/5
Overall, Results is a quirky if not uneven romantic comedy with a couple fine performances, particularly Kevin Corrigan and Guy Pearce. The writing isn’t the best and by the end I can’t say it’s very memorable either way. The Blu-ray released by Magnolia is basic with slim bonus material and good video/audio transfers.
