Escape from L.A. seems to blend together 1980s and 1990s cheese with a mixture of success while others are just too much, though Kurt Russell is still great as Snake. I will say, this one at least does have some replay value.

Road Games is not for everyone with many loving it, but I’m not one of those, however I did enjoy Stacy Keach’s performance at least and the Australian setting was interesting, just the story never came together.
Gotti is a well intentioned but terribly conceived bio crime drama with some so-so acting but worse, terrible editing and pacing making for just an all around bad movie.
The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean is a solid western which is saying something coming from someone who generally isn’t the biggest fan of the genre outside of the classics and it excels thanks to Paul Newman’s charms.
Cheech and Chong’s Up in Smoke is a stoner’s paradise of a movie and even as someone who doesn’t partake, or am a big fan of either Cheech Marin or Tommy Chong, found this to be a fun and entertaining time.
Class of 1999 is cheesy as all hell but an incredibly fun 1980s film (albeit released in 1990) that features a great supporting cast including Malcolm McDowell, Stacy Keach and Pam Grier alongside the young actors who served well in the leads.
Probably the only thing the Blackbeard mini-series is remembered for is being one of Jessica Chastain’s first major roles, otherwise most everything in this seemed cheap from including the production and at nearly three hours, a slog to sit through.
Gold was something of a missed opportunity. The story in itself was interesting while the theme presented by director Stephen Gaghan has a familiar feel that we’ve seen numerous times before.
Nebraska is a slow developing yet poignant drama-comedy about aging, familial relationships and looking at the past. It’s not quite as good as Payne’s previous works like Sideways, but well worth watching especially for the performances from Bruce Dern who is absolutely incredible and Will Forte, working well off of Dern.
