Jackass: Best and Last – Blu-ray Review

Jackass: Best and Last is more of the same however a good chunk of the running time is devoted to best-of clips. As it is, I guess it’s a fine time-waster especially for fans.

THE MOVIE — 2½/5

Plot synopsis: Johnny Knoxville and the gang return for one final fling at the big screen. Featuring all-new stunts and stupidity along with the greatest hits and hardest laughs from the past, Jackass: Best and Last is a joyously raucous celebration of all the mischievous camaraderie that you’ve come to love and expect from these idiots over the past 25 years.

Quick Hit Review: There’s really not much that can be said about a Jackass movie. Although I have seen most of them including the television series, this franchise has not been must-see viewing for me. This installment, the last one given its leader Johnny Knoxville is now 55 years old, is a mix of some new but mostly classic stunts. It’s pretty much of the same though like the previous movies I mostly cringed rather than laughed.

SPECIAL FEATURES – 1/5

This release comes with a slip cover and inside is a redemption code for the Digital HD copy and the only feature is a Deleted Scenes Montage.

VIDEO – 4¼/5

These Jackass movies don’t exactly scream incredible visuals or anything but as it is, this last installment has good detail and colors are bright and fairly vibrant.

AUDIO – 3¾/5

The disc has a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track which is perfectly serviceable when you consider how much “dialogue” there is. That said, there is some depth for the stunts that gives some modest life to the rear channels.

OVERALL — 2½/5

Overall, Jackass: Best and Last is more of the same however a good chunk of the running time is devoted to best-of clips. As it is, I guess it’s a fine time-waster especially for fans.
