PLOT SYNOPSIS |
Marc (ALAIN DELON) is a dashing young con man on the run from the mob. After seeking refuge in the Riviera villa of the widowed Barbara (Albright) and her curvaceous cousin, Melinda (JANE FONDA), Marc becomes trapped in the passionate snares of both women, who are full of sinister surprises. |
SPECIAL FEATURES – 2/5 |
This release does come with a matted slip cover and the artwork is reversible. Features include a new Audio Commentary with Film Historians Howard S. Berger and Nathaniel Thompson as well as the Theatrical Trailer. |
VIDEO – 4½/5 |
Kino Lorber releases Joy House onto Blu-ray and is presented in the original 2.35 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer (MPEG-4 AVC codec) which was taken from a new 2K restoration conducted by Gaumont. The black and white film looks rather great in HD, detail is fairly sharp throughout while the contrast between the blacks and whites was well balanced. |
AUDIO – 3¾/5 |
The included DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 track, both in English and French, which provides for good dialogue levels and some decent enough depth for scenes outdoors such as by the sea and other spots. |
