An ugly movie from beginning to end, The Orphan Killer was just a bad movie through and through with thin characters and a bad script that we’ve seen numerous times before. As bad as the Saw sequels were, this was even worse even taking the budget into consideration.

SPECIAL FEATURES – 3.0/5

This release comes with a glossy slip cover.

Behind the Murder (1:29:29; HD) is a feature-length behind-the-scenes documentary, fly-on-the-wall style.

The disc also includes a Teaser (0:28; HD), Trailer (3:11; HD), Music Video (1:43; HD) and a Slideshow (2:20; HD) gallery.

VIDEO – 3.0/5

As with many a torture porn, The Orphan Killer looks bleak on Blu-ray with washed out colors while detail is average probably due to the low production values. Still, it’s not terrible, just doesn’t have the great textures even by horror standards.

AUDIO – 3.5/5

The disc includes a basic but fine DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track which allows Diane Foster’s blood-curdling screams to ring through the home movie theater. It’s nothing great but effective.

OVERALL – 2.5/5

Overall, an ugly movie from beginning to end, The Orphan Killer was just a bad movie through and through with thin characters and a bad script that we’ve seen numerous times before. As bad as the Saw sequels were, this was even worse even taking the budget into consideration. The Blu-ray released through Reel Gore offers average video, so-so audio and okay bonus material.
