“LEGO Star Wars: The New Yoda Chronicles” is a fun series and addition to the popular LEGO brand that will appeal to both kids and adults, though this one is geared toward younger viewers. Still, I had a lot fun watching these 4 episodes and look forward to future seasons.

THE MOVIE – 3.0/5

Plot Synopsis: After headstrong Luke (ERIC BAUZA) nearly delivers the good guys into Palpatine’s (TREVOR DEVALL) clutches, Master Yoda (TOM KANE) and the ghost of Obi-Wan Kenobi (MICHAEL DONOVAN) unearth the Holocrons – last remnants of the secrets of the Jedi – to further Luke’s training. But Darth Vader (MATT SLOAN) also seeks the Holocrons. And he’ll stop at nothing to get to them first. Meanwhile, courageous superclone Jek-14 (BRIAN DOBSON) comes out of retirement to help bolster the Rebels.

Quick Hit Review: The LEGO brand has been going strong and perhaps more so than ever with the various toylines followed by video games and now feature and direct-to-video movies and television series, one of them, which aired first on the Cartoon Network as “LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles” and now adding “New” when Disney purchased LucasFilms and aired the 4-episodes from May to November 2014. The show has good humor that is certainly aimed at kids yet adults will find it funny as well; the animation is halfway decent as is the voice casting.

Episodes:

  1. Escape from the Jedi Temple
  2. Race for the Holocrons
  3. Raid on Coruscant
  4. Clash of the Skywalkers

SPECIAL FEATURES – 1.0/5

The disc is rather sparse on features with only an Alternate Ending (1:51) on ‘Clash of the Skywalkers’.

VIDEO – 4.0/5 | AUDIO – 3.0/5

The show is presented with an anamorphic widescreen transfer (1.78 AR) and looks fine with bright, pleasant colors and good detail even for standard definition. Each episode comes with a standard if not stable Dolby Digital 2.0 track with clear enough dialogue and any action scenes or ambient noises centrally located.

OVERALL – 2.5/5

Overall, “LEGO Star Wars: The New Yoda Chronicles” is a fun series and addition to the popular LEGO brand that will appeal to both kids and adults, though this one is geared toward younger viewers. Still, I had a lot fun watching these 4 episodes and look forward to future seasons.
