SPECIAL FEATURES – ½/5

This release comes with a glossy slip cover and a Digital HD copy, but the only feature is the Theatrical Trailer.

VIDEO – 3½/5, AUDIO – 4/5

Lionsgate releases Rumble Through the Dark onto Blu-ray presented with a 1.85 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer (MPEG-4 AVC codec). This looks like it was shot digitally as it does have that sort of texture and saturated colors so while from a distance it looks fine, I felt there was something off, and when inspecting closer, the detail isn’t terribly fine. It doesn’t appear anything to do with the transfer itself but how it was shot.

The included DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track is serviceable if nothing unexceptional. Dialogue does comes across the center speaker with good clarity but the depth isn’t anything noteworthy, outside of the fight scenes where the crowd cheers (and jeers) did get outputted on the front and rear channels.
