SPECIAL FEATURES – 3½/5

This release comes with a retro VHS slip cover but unfortunately none of the features from the DVD were ported over for some odd reason.

VIDEO – 3½/5, AUDIO – 3¾/5

The Replacement Killers comes to Blu-ray and is presented with a 2.40 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition. It’s always a crapshoot with the quality on Mill Creek’s Blu-rays and this one, while not looking terrible, isn’t exactly stunning either. I assume MC received this from Sony with no work being done. Detail I suppose is passable though this is missing the fine grain so it’s especially textured. This is one I wish a company like Arrow got a hold of since presumably some work would’ve been done. As a side, I forgot this was part of a double feature with Truth or Consequences, N.N.

Despite the DVD already having a Dolby Digital 5.1 track, this release comes with a two channel DTS-HD Master audio track, so everything is relegated to the front speakers. That said, it’s still a relatively strong track with dialogue coming across clearly and the score and soundtrack providing some respectable depth.
