Scooby-Doo & Batman: The Brave and the Bold is a fun enough animated movie more as a fan of the humor from the cancelled Batman animated series and if any hard-core Mystery Inc. fans will also enjoy it even if the team-up itself is forced.

THE MOVIE – 3.0/5

And the screwy team-ups continue building off of Scooby-Doo: Wrestlemania Mystery and Scooby-Doo and WWE: Curse of the Speed Demon, Scooby-Doo & KISS: Rock & Roll Mystery. Now we get Scooby-Doo & Batman: The Brave and the Bold which sees the Mystery Inc. gang fighting alongside the light-hearted Dark Knight from the now cancelled series which I generally loved.

The plot finds Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy and Scooby joining the Caped Crusader’s own crime-solving posse which includes Martian Manhunter, Black Canary, The Question, Plastic Man and Detective Chimp. Together they attempt to unmask the identity of Gotham’s latest monster, The Crimson Scarlet… or something like that. Throughout the movie we get some great cameos in keeping with The Brave and the Bold aspects of the film.

There’s really not much to talk about the film. If you’ve seen one Scooby-Doo team-up, you’ve seen them all and the enjoyment is dependent of both Scooby-Doo and whoever they join forces with which is probably why I wasn’t all that enamored with either the KISS or WWE movies and got a bit more out of this entry since I am a Batman fan and did thoroughly enjoy The Brave and the Bold television series.

SPECIAL FEATURES – 0/5

This release comes with a glossy, title-embossed, slip cover. The only features are two bonus cartoons of “The Dynamic Scooby-Doo Affair” and “The Caped Crusader Caper” both from The New Scooby-Doo Movies.

VIDEO – 3.75/5, AUDIO – 3.0/5

The movie is presented with a 16×9 enhanced 1.78 widescreen aspect ratio and even though it’s only DVD, the animation still looks nice and bright while the Dolby Digital 5.1 track is serviceable though lacks depth.

OVERALL – 3.0/5

Overall, Scooby-Doo & Batman: The Brave and the Bold is a fun enough animated movie more as a fan of the humor from the cancelled Batman animated series and if any hard-core Mystery Inc. fans will also enjoy it even if the team-up itself is forced, which is the norm with them.
