Mad Families is the latest in a long line of crappy comedies, this one co-written by David Spade and starring a couple talented (enough) actors like Charlie Sheen and Leah Remini though it’s apparently neither were exactly trying.

PLOT SYNOPSIS

On July 4th weekend, Saltstone Park brims with families eager to relax. At campsite 16, however, the Jones, Jones and Jonas families find that their campsite has been overbooked. What starts as a simple clerical error quickly spirals into a family feud fueled by the rivalry of three equally stubborn leaders: Jose (JUAN GABRIEL PARAJA), an affable but slovenly slacker; Franklin (FINESSE MITCHELL), a rising politician with a disdain for the outdoors; and Charlie (CHARLIE SHEEN), a goofy, alcoholic hairdresser. By way of porta-potty races and sexually-charged forest encounters, these determined families wage a ferocious war for the right to holiday fun.

SPECIAL FEATURES — 0/5

VIDEO — 3.0/5, AUDIO — 3.0/5

Mad Families is presented with an anamorphic widescreen transfer and comes with a standard Dolby Digital 5.1 track. The video looks like it was cheaply shot while the track offers fine dialogue levels.

OVERALL – 1.0/5

Overall, Mad Families is the latest in a long line of crappy comedies, this one co-written by David Spade and starring a couple talented (enough) actors like Charlie Sheen and Leah Remini though it’s apparently neither were exactly trying. The DVD released by Sony offers okay video/audio transfers but no bonus material.
