“The League” Season 4 DVD is an OK release and with only 13 episodes is relatively cheap, though I’d recommend the Blu-ray (which we were not supplied, unfortunately). The features aren’t anything amazing, though I guess if you’re a fan of the show, the extended episodes might be an interesting bonus.

THE SHOW

America’s favorite pastime — talking smack to your buddies and making their lives miserable — is elevated to new heights in Season Four of “The League”. This season kicks off with the arrival of Kevin and Jenny’s baby… and the race to the Shiva Bowl is on. As Taco tangles with Chicago Bears great Jim McMahon and Andre’s tailgating plans go horribly awry, the rest of the guys contend with dirty trades, circumcision debates, breast-a-lyzers and blackmail.

SPECIAL FEATURES – 2.0/5

The 2-disc set comes with Extended Episodes, some Deleted Scenes, Alt Nation, Witchy Woman Pdcast, RaFi’s Helpful Holiday Hints and Taco Tones featurettes and a Gag Reel.

VIDEO – 3.75/5

“The League” Season 3 is presented with fine anamorphic widescreen transfer which more or less matches what’s on television, just with the normal artifacting that accompanies standard def releases.

AUDIO – 3.5/5

The Dolby Digital 5.1 track is serviceable especially for a comedy but nothing more. Dialogue is clear, which is all that matters as the other channels don’t get a whole lot of use.

OVERALL – 3.0/5

Overall, “The League” Season 4 DVD is an OK release and with only 13 episodes is relatively cheap, though I’d recommend the Blu-ray (which we were not supplied, unfortunately). The features aren’t anything amazing, though I guess if you’re a fan of the show, the extended episodes might be an interesting bonus.
