The Star technically isn’t a great animated movie by any stretch but it is perfectly safe and unlike The Emoji Movie, did illicit a few laughs from me and never once came across as cynical, and the voice talents was pretty impressive while the animation, albeit nothing extraordinary, was passable.

The Peanuts Movie isn’t great but more than satisfactory and will certainly please its core fans as it shows some of the classic scenes from the strip and various TV specials. All around it’s just a smile-enducing flick that kids will love and parents and passively enjoy, even those (like myself) who aren’t fans of the comic.

A Bet’s a Bet, also known as The Opposite Sex, is just another so-so rom-com with some decent performances but not much else, though I thought Geoff Stults and Mena Suvari shared some chemistry. The DVD released by Cinedigm, however, is pretty basic from the menu with only Play and Scene Selection options and nothing else.
