Leave it to Vinegar Syndrome to dredge up a movie like Berserker but there is something charming about this D-movie, yes it’s a tad dull at times and a weird mix of Nordic lore and 1980s slasher, but I found it fairly entertaining for what it is.
Mountaintop Motel Massacre is a pretty laughably entertaining bad movie thanks to some of the poor production values and inexperienced actors, but like I said, can be fun at times.
Savage Harbor at times is your run-of-the-mill bad thrillers from the 80s but there are moments that were truly (unintentionally) hilarious with bad acting, writing, editing and direction, all the elements to make a good bad movie.
Satan’s Slave is a pretty laughably bad movie that at times was bewildering at times and features Michael Gough in a villainous role, though the performances from Potter and Glendenning was wildly on one end or the other.
Imagine a movie called The Suckling wasn’t very good, even in the age old so bad, it’s good. The acting is poor and story non-existent but I suppose for your indie horror purists, you might get something out of this.
There’s Nothing Out There isn’t great B-movie horror or anything yet there is a fun element to these independently made films where there is a lot of passion both in front of and behind the camera.
Bloody New Year is your typical 1980 indie slasher/horror with some gory fun moments amongst the so-so performances; this probably would make for a fun viewing especially around New Years.
The House of the Dead was originally released, for some odd reason, as Alien Zone and as such really confused plenty of people. As for the movie itself, it’s kind of your standard horror film in vignette form, taking cues from The Twilight Zone though done a lot better years later with Tales from the Crypt.
Demon Wind is not exactly a great independent horror film or anything and the performances are, at best, so-so, but it is an enjoyable enough flick with some moderately impressive make-up effects.
I know Joseph W. Sarno has a minor cult following, but can’t say I’m much of a fan and Red Roses of Passion didn’t change that opinion, although Patricia McNair did make for a good lead with a plot that didn’t exactly capture my attention.
I realize Snapshot isn’t a very good film from the story to characters, it’s not even good as an exploitation kind of way, and yet I couldn’t help but to be moderately entertained and drawn toward actress Sigrid Thornton who made it quite watchable.
The Hearse has its moments but the combination of horror, supernatural, romance and mystery, didn’t quite gel for me, however actress Trish Van Devere does deliver for the type of movie this is.
Sure Malibu High is the typical silly 1970s sex comedy and on that level, it might be worthwhile watching amongst friends to mock, but outside of that, not sure there’s really any reason unless that era, and ultra low budget films, fascinates you.
Witchtrap is kind of your prototypical 1980s supernatural horror flick that has its moments though only enjoyable for its silliness and hackneyed acting, but there’s an audience for it and you can’t go wrong with it.
Count Dracula’s Great Love is another poor adaptation from the 1970s and in spite of a respectable enough performance by Paul Naschy, there were far more unintentionally funny scenes instead of scary. This would probably serve well as a Saturday night flick to watch, and mock, with friends.
