Nashville is a lengthy but ultimately decent ensemble musical-drama-comedy from Robert Altman and features David Arkin, Barbara Baxley, Ned Beatty, Karen Black, Keith Carradine, Shelley Duvall, Jeff Goldblum amongst many, many others.
The Underneath isn’t a strong film from Steven Soderbergh but has its moments and the performances from Peter Gallagher and Alison Elliott were quite noteworthy.
The Shining is a great and eerie atmospheric horror-thriller that might feature Jack Nicholson’s best performance, at least early on, only later when going full-on psycho, but still an entertaining flick from Stanley Kubrick.
Roxanne is a wonderfully breezy romantic-comedy that one can’t help but smile from beginning to end, mostly because of Steve Martin’s understated but still fulfilling performance alongside a nice supporting cast.
