The Naked Spur debuts on Blu-ray courtesy of the Warner Archive Collection receiving a new video restoration and stars James Stewart, Janet Leigh, Robert Ryan and Ralph Meeker and is out September 21st.
Horizons West, starring Robery Ryan, Julia Adams, Rock Hudson and Raymond Burr debuts on Blu-ray through Kino Lorber, arrived on May 11th.
Billy Budd is a well made, high-seas adventure film that features a great breakout performance from Terence Stamp marking only his second feature film (his first also was released in ’62).
Lawman is yet another western that really is undistinguishable with the others in the genre, but I did find it entertaining if only for the cast led by Burt Lancaster and Robert Ryan, as well as Robert Duvall in a smaller role.
Hour of the Gun is a good telling of the Earp/Clanton feud and features some solid performances by James Garner and Jason Robards who work well off one another.
