The Initiation of Sarah actually isn’t a half-bad made-for-TV supernatural horror film from 1978 and while it’s pretty water downed and resembles Carrie if only a bit, this is well worth checking out.
Airplane remains one of the funniest movies I’ve ever seen and has endured the test of time, though probably some jokes would not be looked favorably in today’s climate and a movie like this wouldn’t be allowed to be made today. Still, funny as hell.
Airplane II: The Sequel is the perfect reminder of why not every surprise hit should get a sequel. While a few of the jokes work here, most do not and it’s pretty forgettable even if it’s not a bad time-waster.
Airplane is a timeless comedy, one where one doesn’t necessarily have to get the references in order to find it funny. The Blu-ray, a Best Buy exclusive at the time of this writing, has a good video transfer and adequate audio.
