The Drowning Pool isn’t as strong of a movie compared to Harper but works mainly for Paul Newman once again and there was at least one fun set piece for the titled pool as the villain attempts to kill Harper.

While not exactly an obscure movie from the ‘70s, Night Moves has been largely forgotten or lost amongst the classics of what was arguably the best decade for cinema. Hackman is, per usual, amazing.

Review: Stormy Monday BD + Screen Caps

Stormy Monday is a decent little, and probably little-known, 1980s British crime-drama marking writer/director Mike Figgis’ debut. It features a quad of fine performances headlined by Sting, Sean Bean and Melanie Griffith and a well paced plot.

The Bonfire of the Vanities Blu-ray Review

The Bonfire of the Vanities was a critical and financial flop when it was released back in 1990 and considering its cast with Tom Hanks and Bruce Willis, it should have been better. For me, I don’t think it was that bad though I’ve never read the novel it was based upon so taking at face value, it’s at least an average, and biting, satirical drama-comedy.
