Shampoo is a tour-de-force of a movie more with the acting from Warren Beatty, Goldie Hawn, Julie Christie and Lee Grant, who took home the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress, than the screenplay, written by Robert Towne and Beatty (Oscar nominated).

It’s something to go into a movie with low expectations and Snatched actually was a tad better, that’s not saying much, however. The first 20-minutes or so was a slog to sit through but as Schumer and Hawn are together in South America, and especially when Maloni enters the picture (in an all too brief role), things did pick up.

Death Becomes Her definitely has its moments and even though it was made in 1992 well before the visual effects technology had taken off to what it is today, but it features some respectable effects, particularly with the hole in Hawn’s stomach. Outside of that, the jokes don’t entirely work but at the very least the core cast work well against one another, Streep especially.

The Steven Spielberg: Director’s Collection is a fine selection, that Universal has access to, that general movies fans will appreciate, even if a couple aren’t that great (1941 and Always specifically). However, given the studio’s history, those who already own previous releases like E.T. and Jurassic Park, could wait as I’m sure the exclusive titles will come available on their own at some point down the road.
