Monster Party had a great premise about a group of “recovering” serial killers but that idea doesn’t equate to an all that interesting movie, unfortunately despite some fine moments that aren’t exploited.
Within is a slow-plodding suspense-horror film that takes a bit too much time to get going but the finale isn’t half bad though hardly saves it, yet this might be worthy of a rental, not much more than that.
Blood Father is a beautifully crafted drama about redemption and reconciliation featuring two great and emotional performances by Mel Gibson and Erin Moriarty in conjunction with an efficient story that doesn’t wear out its welcome with superfluous scenes.
