Firewalker is by no means a great action-adventure and being released in the mid-80s tried to tap into the same crowd as Indiana Jones but with a weaker script and less charismatic main character (no offense to Norris, but he doesn’t hold a candle to Ford), that said, it’s a harmless flick that the family can enjoy and might be worth a one-off viewing.

THE MOVIE

Soldiers of fortune, Max Danigan (CHUCK NORRIS) and Leo Porter (LOU GOSSETT), are ever the adventurers… with little to show for their exploits. When presented with a treasure map by the mysterious Patricia (MELODY ANDERSON), Max and Leo imagine fame and fortune is within their grasp. However, they must contend with the guardian of the treasure in order to secure their bounty in Firewalker.

SPECIAL FEATURES – 0/5

Sadly, no features were included.

VIDEO – 3.75/5

Olive Films distributes Firewalker onto Blu-ray with a decent looking 1080p high-definition transfer presented in the film’s original 1.85 widescreen aspect ratio. The detail levels throughout are nice though some of the nighttime shots do show heavy amounts of grain and noise. However, colors don’t look altogether bad and outside of the noise, it appears to be a clean enough transfer with no obvious signs of artifacts and/or dust marks/scratches.

AUDIO – 3.75/5

The movie comes with a standard but effective DTS-HD Master Audio Stereo track. This isn’t an overly impressive lossless track or anything but it gets the job done with clear enough dialogue levels while the more action-oriented scenes unsurprisingly do not have the depth given the limited channels. Still, for a movie nearing 30 years old, it’s not half bad just don’t expect to be blown away by it.

OVERALL – 2.5/5

Overall, Firewalker is by no means a great action-adventure and being released in the mid-80s tried to tap into the same crowd as Indiana Jones but with a weaker script and less charismatic main character (no offense to Norris, but he doesn’t hold a candle to Ford), that said, it’s a harmless flick that the family can enjoy and might be worth a one-off viewing. The Blu-ray released by Olive is pretty basic with no bonus material but half decent video and audio transfers.
