PLOT SYNOPSIS |
F.P. 1 Doesn’t Answer dramatizes the creation of a massive floating airport serving as a way station between four continents. Ellissen (HANS ALBERS) is a dashing pilot who helps persuade an heiress (SYBILLE SCHMITZ) to fund the visionary project. When communication with Floating Platform 1 is mysteriously interrupted, Ellissen risks his life to investigate its disappearance. |
SPECIAL FEATURES – 1½/5 |
Features include an Audio Commentary by Film Historian Eddy von Mueller and the English-language version, Secrets of F.P.1 which starred Conrad Veidt, Jill Esmond and Leslie Fenton. |
VIDEO – 4¼/5 |
Kino Lorber releases F.P. 1 Doesn’t Answer, presented with a 1.19 full frame aspect ratio and given a 1080p high-definition transfer. This black and white picture, going on nearly 90 years old, looks pretty darn good. Detail is fairly sharp and although there are plenty signs of film damage, the black levels being stark and well balanced and whites not seeming washed out. |
AUDIO – 4¼/5 |
The disc comes with a German language DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 track. For the most part this track sounds great with dialogue coming across with good clarity and there was only some minor detection of some pops but nothing that was especially distracting. |
Check out some more 1080p screen caps by going to page 2. Please note, these do contain spoilers.
