PLOT SYNOPSIS |
| Charming seasonal clerk Steve Mason (ROBERT MITCHUM) catches beautiful Connie Ennis (JANET LEIGH) in a fraudulent shopping scheme during the busy Christmas rush. But when he discovers that Ennis is a war widow and single mother, Mason takes pity on her and can’t bring himself to turn her in. His supervisor takes notice and fires him on the spot. Mason befriends Connie and her young son, Timmy (GORDON GEBERT), and may complicate her plans to marry boring nice guy Carl Davis (WENDELL COREY). |

This black & white presentation of Holiday Affair comes courtesy of the Warner Archive Collection and looks pretty damn brilliant from beginning to end. The detail is incredibly well defined throughout and the natural film grain and noise has been retained so if any restoration work was done, the integrity of the picture was left intact. Other than some very minor specs here and there, this was a really clean video transfer. The disc comes with a DTS-HD Master Audio Stereo Mono track which is strong but also basic considering the bulk of the film is dialogue with some minor depth for the music and score. All in all, a very nice lossless track. |
