Trapped is an adequate enough thriller but nothing terribly notable outside of a nice cast headlined by Charlize Theron and Kevin Bacon. This is the third time, at least those in my collection, released by Mill Creek.

PLOT SYNOPSIS

When Will (STUART TOWNSEND) and Karen (CHARLIZE THERON) Jennings are held hostage and their daughter (ELLE FANNING) is abducted, a relentless plan is set in motion that will challenge everything they took for granted. Joe (KEVIN BACON) and Cheryl (COURTNEY LOVE) Hickey, along with their cousin Marvin (PRUITT TAYLOR VINCE), have orchestrated the foolproof plan to extort money from wealthy families. As the plan escalates and unravels, Will and Karen are pushed to the limit to get their daughter back alive.

SPECIAL FEATURES – 0/5

No features were included.

VIDEO – 4.0/5

Mill Creek releases Trapped onto Blu-ray presented with a 1.78 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer. For the most part, this is a fine looking picture, some harsher or oversaturated elements, but still detail was well defined. Doubtful this is a new transfer and instead taken from the numerous Blu-rays Mill Creek has put out.

AUDIO – 4.0/5

The disc includes a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track which is fairly respectable with clear dialogue coming via the center channel, nice depth for some of the more action-centric scenes, including the climax, and some modest depth where the LFE channel does kick in.

OVERALL – 2.5/5

Trapped is an adequate enough thriller but nothing terribly notable outside of a nice cast headlined by Charlize Theron and Kevin Bacon. This is the third time, at least those in my collection, released by Mill Creek one as a Double Feature with In the Cut and another part of a “Six Degrees” collection with other Kevin Bacon movies.
