PLOT SYNOPSIS

Mike (CRAIG PECK) is always getting in the way of fun. His obsession with horror movies and their rules dictates that no matter where he goes, he can’t help but expect to find a monster lurking around every corner. But this time, his paranoia might be justified…

After being invited to a remote lodge, along with some friends (WENDY BEDNARZ, MARK COLLVER, BONNIE BOWERS, JOHN CARHART III), Mike immediately begins to sense that something isn’t right, but none of his friends believe him. Unfortunately, they’re dead wrong, and a slimy alien frog monster has indeed landed in the nearby woods and set out to fulfill its mission of killing all human makes and mating with females. Can Mike convince his friends that there is something out there, before the men have their brains sucked out and the women are carrying green mutant fetuses?

• There’s a Movie Out There (52:27) is a new interview with Writer-Director Rolfe Kanefsky and Producer-Editor Victor Kanefsky. Pretty lengthy, the pair discuss the origins of the movie as well as Rolfe Kanefsky talking about how he became a filmmaker.
• 40 Years of Cutting (30:59) is a new interview with Victor Kanefsky talking about his own career and his work on There’s Nothing Out There with moderator Author/Screenwriter C. Courtney Joyner.
• Interview with Craig Peck (18:24) has the actor recalling his time working on the film.
• Archival Interview with Rolfe Kanefsky (35:56) looks like it’s from the early 2000s and shot on a video camcorder.

Overall, There’s Nothing Out There isn’t great B-movie horror or anything yet there is a fun element to these independently made films where there is a lot of passion both in front of and behind the camera. This new Blu-ray from Vinegar Syndrome offers up impressive video/audio transfers and a good array of bonus features.
