The Drowning Pool isn’t as strong of a movie compared to Harper but works mainly for Paul Newman once again and there was at least one fun set piece for the titled pool as the villain attempts to kill Harper.

There’s a Harper Days Are Here vintage featurette and the Theatrical Trailer. |
VIDEO – 4.25/5, AUDIO – 4.0/5 |
Warner Archive Collection releases The Drowning Pool onto Blu-ray where it’s presented with a 2.40 widescreen aspect ratio and given a new 1080p high-definition transfer. Like its predecessor, Harper, this looks great. Detail throughout is fairly sharp and there was some good colors bursts while the black levels were deep but still showing what’s in the shot.
The DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono track which outputs clear dialogue and some modest depth for the suspense-thriller sequences and there it sounded clean, free of pops and hisses. |
OVERALL – 3.0/5 |
Overall, The Drowning Pool isn’t as strong of a movie compared to Harper but works mainly for Paul Newman once again and there was at least one fun set piece for the titled pool as the villain attempts to kill Harper. The Blu-ray release from the Warner Archive Collection offers good video/audio transfers and a throwaway vintage featurette. |
