Brigadoon sings onto Blu-ray presented in its original 2.55 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer though the Archive Collection (MOD). The picture looks excellent with bright colors throughout and more impressive, detail is sharp and nicely defined.
The disc comes with a wide-ranging DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track and good thing for this musical which belts out the songs out of every available speaker and even some modest depth in the LFE channel. Dialogue levels also come through with clarity and no signs of pops, hisses or other flaws. |
OVERALL – 3.75/5 |
Overall, Brigadoon isn’t exactly a well known musical-romance but it does have some catchy music for the era and two charming performances by Gene Kelly and Cyd Charisse. The Blu-ray released through Warner’s Archive Collection offering some okay features but solid audio/video transfers. |
