Teen Wolf Too is really the quintessential example of a needless sequel, though not nearly as awful as something like Weekend at Bernie’s 2, not that’s all saying that much, even Michael J. Fox’s charm could’ve saved this.

THE MOVIE — 2.0/5

Plot Synopsis: Todd Howard (JASON BATEMAN) is a Hamilton University freshman with a full athletic scholarship — only Todd has no idea why, since he’s far more interested in veterinary medicine than sports. But his boxing coach is very familiar with the Howard family secret and he’s hoping he can use it to his advantage. When the whole school — including Todd — finds out that he’s a werewolf with superhuman abilities, Todd’s popularity skyrockets and he becomes the big wolf on campus.

But is his fame a gift or a curse? And can he keep it from getting in the way of the relationships he has with his best friends and girlfriend? Perhaps a little guidance from his professor (KIM DARBY), who has a secret of her own, may help Todd learn the biggest lesson of all.

Quick Hit Review: An ill-advised sequel, Teen Wolf Too is an incredibly unfunny movie and while I didn’t mind Jason Bateman in the lead, he is no Michael J. Fox. Besides that, Stuart Fratkin, taking the role of Stiles, is no Jerry Levine. This film is more or less a carbon copy of the original just taking it to a college setting and switching from basketball to boxing. This is one to skip.

VIDEO – 3.75/5

Shout Factory, through their Scream line, releases Teen Wolf Too onto Blu-ray presented with a 1080p high-definition transfer and shown in its original 1.85 widescreen aspect ratio. For the most part, this looks decent enough as detail appears sharp and colors look natural. The only downside is, I did notice the occasional dust mark/spec so it’s not entirely clean and, not surprisingly, didn’t get a new scan.

AUDIO – 4.0/5

As with the first movie, Teen Wolf Too comes equipped with a satisfactory DTS-HD Master Audio Mono track. Given everything is relegated to the one channel, this lossless track sounds fine, dialogue levels were clean and when the action (i.e. boxing scenes) pick up, there is some okay depth.

OVERALL – 2.5/5

Overall, Teen Wolf Too is really the quintessential example of a needless sequel, though not nearly as awful as something like Weekend at Bernie’s 2, not that’s all saying that much, even Michael J. Fox’s charm could’ve saved this. But at least this “Collector’s Edition” release, only one because of the first movie, offers good video/audio transfers and an okay selection of bonus material.
