Jenny’s Wedding had the ingredients to be a decent enough romantic drama but instead the talents are wasted with a sub-par script and little to no chemistry between Heigl and Bledel. With the likes of Tom Wilkinson co-starring and from the director of Beaches, this was a disappointing flick only worthy perhaps of a rental.

PLOT SYNOPSIS

Jenny Farrell (KATHERINE HEIGL) has led an openly gay life with everyone except her closely knit, middle-class family. And while hiding the truth hasn’t stopped Jenny from loving her parents (TOM WILKINSON and LINDA EMOND) or siblings, it hasn’t allowed them to really know one another either. So when she announces that she’s going to marry the woman her family thought was just her roommate, the news suddenly lands on them like a depth charge. Now long-suppressed lies, misunderstandings, and rivalries are all brought to the surface as Jenny and her family is forced to face the parts of themselves and each other that they tried to ignore for so long.

SPECIAL FEATURES – 1.0/5

VIDEO – 4.0/5 | AUDIO – 4.0/5

Jenny’s Wedding is presented with a 2.40 anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio and given a nice sounding, with good depth, Dolby Digital 5.1 track making good use of the soundtrack and score.

OVERALL – 2.0/5

Overall, Jenny’s Wedding had the ingredients to be a decent enough romantic drama but instead the talents are wasted with a sub-par script and little to no chemistry between Heigl and Bledel. With the likes of Tom Wilkinson co-starring and from the director of Beaches, this was a disappointing flick only worthy perhaps of a rental. The DVD release by MPI is basic with good video and audio transfers and just a standard featurette.
