PLOT SYNOPSIS

200 years in the future the human race has achieved immortality through a genetic vaccine created by the Pilot (SEAN GUNN). All war, violence and crime have been eradicated, but in this utopian society a small band of rebels questions if this immortal life is how humans were meant to live. They recruit a young man, Logos (ABRAHAM LEWIS), who is only days away from receiving the “gift” of immortality and similarly questions the Pilot’s world. But the Pilot sends a spy, Akae (ELOISE SMYTH), to infiltrate the group. Logos leads the rebels as they attempt to overthrow the status quo and reclaim their right to die.

SPECIAL FEATURES – 0/5

This release comes with a slip cover but that’s about it, no features, not even a scene select.

VIDEO – 4½/5, AUDIO – 4¼/5

I Am Mortal comes to Blu-ray through RLJE Films, presented with a 2.39 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer. The picture all in all looks fairly good with sharp, well defined detail throughout and colors are balanced. There were no defects like aliasing, artifacts, pixilation, etc.

The disc comes with your standard DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track. Through the center channel there’s clear dialogue and there is some decent depth coming via the front and rear speakers as well. I don’t think it was anything amazing, but still satisfying enough.
