SPECIAL FEATURES – 2¼/5

This three-disc set is housed in a standard DVD case and comes with a glossy slip cover.

There are four featurettes: Inside The Alienist: Angel of Darkness: The Hunt for a Killer (2:56), Building a World (3:29), Dressing a Modern Woman (2:43) and Walking the Set 2.0 with Luke Evans (2:18). I assume these were available online and all told only total 11:26.

VIDEO – 4/5, AUDIO – 3¾/5

The Alienist: Angel of Darkness is presented with a 16×9 enhanced widescreen and for standard def looks adequate. Each episode comes with a standard Dolby Digital 5.1 that can be a bit heavy at times and not terribly well balanced, however dialogue comes across well enough.
