RLJ Films releases Son onto Blu-ray where its presented with a 2.39 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer. This is a very dark movie, both in terms of the tone and the photography, so it’s not going to have bright colors save for a couple shots here and there. However, detail does appear sharp and I did not detect any artifacts or other flaws. The included DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 does a fine job outputting the strong dialogue levels as well as ambient noises and a haunting score. Nothing profound or amazing but still a solid lossless track as a whole. |
