It’s rather amazing Supernatural has made through 13 seasons with the fourteenth coming. It’s never quite been my cup of tea but certainly has some entertaining moments thanks to the two leads in Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles.

THE SEASON

Most families celebrate the miraculous arrival of a bundle of joy. But for brothers Sam (JARED PADALECKI) and Dean Winchester (JENSEN ACKLES), a newborn babe in their world is no cause for celebration. Now when the child is Jack (ALEXANDER CALVERT), son of Lucifer. This young Nephilim roams the world with no idea of who or what he is and what havoc he can wreak, causing no small amount of tension between the brothers as they try to figure out what to do with him. Unfortunately, Castiel (MISHA COLLINS) is out of reach and their mom, Mary, is trapped in an apocalyptic world with Lucifer (MARK PELLEGRINO). The guys will need more than a miracle to reunite their family…and to save the world from Lucifer again.

VIDEO – 4.0/5

Warner Brothers releases Supernatural onto Blu-ray where it is presented in its original televised 1.78 widescreen aspect ratio and given a 1080p high-definition transfer. Although this tends to be a very dark looking show, especially considering our two protagonists and company are battling against Lucifer, detail still looked sharp and there are some modest pops of colors.

AUDIO – 4.0/5

Each episode comes accompanied with a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track which is well rounded outputting crisp and clear dialogue levels primarily through the center channel with some good usage with the various action sequences as the brothers battle the Prince of Darkness.

OVERALL – 3.0/5

It’s rather amazing Supernatural has made through 13 seasons with the fourteenth coming. It’s never quite been my cup of tea but certainly has some entertaining moments thanks to the two leads in Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles. The Blu-ray offers up good video/audio transfers and a good selection of bonus features.
