Once you get past the incredibly dated and awful laugh track, Girlfriends is an enjoyable sitcom featuring four wonderful lead actresses and some genuinely funny humor and writing that only got better with each season.

SPECIAL FEATURES – 3.0/5 |
This 25-disc set is like the other Paramount series box sets as they are all in one large clear keep case with the spindle being removable to allow better access to whatever disc you’re looking for. Also included is a slip cover which is nice… unfortunately there is a sticker which is a SOB to remove, the hair dryer didn’t work and I finally used Goo Gone, there is a slight dried residue leftover. In any case, all the features from the individual releases come with the same features. SEASON 2:
SEASON 3:

VIDEO – 4.0/5, AUDIO – 3.5/5 |
Girlfriends: The Complete Series is presented with a Full Frame 1.33 aspect ratio on seasons 1-2 and 16×9 enhanced 1.78 widescreen aspect ratio on 3-8, and for the most part looks fine, probably in-line in how it initially aired where colors are decent. Season 1-3 have Dolby Digital Stereo tracks and Season 4-8 upping to 5.1 tracks. Nothing spectacular especially since this is a sitcom, which means clear dialogue levels with some minor ambient noises and music making up the rest. |
OVERALL – 3.75/5 |
Once you get past the incredibly dated and awful laugh track, Girlfriends is an enjoyable sitcom featuring four wonderful lead actresses and some genuinely funny humor and writing that only got better with each season. This is another great series set, particularly for anyone who doesn’t already own the individual seasons as it is at a good price. |
