Impractical Jokers: The Complete Fifth Season is pretty much up to snuff with its previous seasons and the jokes, as well as challenges, still are quite funny. The only downside is these season sets aren’t as well done probably because TruTV constantly reruns past episodes every day.

THE SEASON — 3.75/5

“Prepare for something amazing!”

Impractical Jokers, one of TruTV’s headline shows, is consistently funny and even sometimes awkward as four lifelong friends, Joe Gatto, James Murray, Brian Quinn and Sal Vulcano, attempt to one up each other with challenges and via hidden cameras, witness the laughter and humiliation over the course of 26 episodes.

That’s the set-up, quick and easy.

I’ve watched the show since its inception and every episode offers something new and one of the reasons the series continues to work is seeing these four friends and in all likelihood, one or more of them will remind you have either yourself or your own best friends.

SPECIAL FEATURES – 1.75/5

The 4-disc set comes housed in a standard DVD case and side slides into a matted slip cover. Inside is an episode guide. On the disc are some Deleted Scenes, Inside Jokes and the British Invasion Special episode.

VIDEO – 3.0/5, AUDIO – 3.25/5

Impractical Jokers: The Complete Fifth Season comes to DVD presented with a 16×9 enhanced 1.78 widescreen aspect ratio and given a Dolby Digital 5.1 track. The video looks okay but rather faded, almost like these were recorded off of a secondary source. The Dolby Digital 5.1 track is serviceable but nothing special.

OVERALL – 3.25/5

Overall, Impractical Jokers: The Complete Fifth Season is pretty much up to snuff with its previous seasons and the jokes, as well as challenges, still are quite funny. The only downside is these season sets aren’t as well done probably because TruTV constantly reruns past episodes every day. As it is, the picture and audio transfers are merely fine and the features are lackluster.
