Season Synopsis: The pressure gets turned up on Frank (TOM SELLECK) as he navigates a series of high profile crimes within the NYPD. His oldest son Danny (DONNIE WAHLBERG) crosses paths with the Russian mob and becomes the target of an international drug cartel, while his brother Jamie (WILL ESTES) tries to balance his cases and burgeoning relationship with his partner. Meanwhile, their sister Erin (BRIDGET MOYNAHAN) calls on a detective to help put away the city’s worst criminals. In this New York family, duty never sleeps.
Quick Hit Review: Blue Bloods is a finely-tuned crime-drama that excels more on the character relationships more so than the crimes they investigate. The acting for the most part is well done with Tom Selleck doing a great job as the head of a family and the NYPD. This isn’t a series that will challenge you or anything yet it’s undeniably entertaining. |

OVERALL – 4.0/5 |
Overall, Blue Bloods: The Seventh Season is another solid year for this now venerable series, mostly due to the cast, headlined by Tom Selleck, than the storylines or crimes. Might not be a show you watch live or even via DVR, but on home video? I’d say it’s worth a shot. The DVD released by Paramount offers good video/audio transfers and a relatively thin selection of bonus material. |
