PLOT SYNOPSIS
|
Bruce Lee expert John Little (Bruce Lee: A Warrior’s Journey) tracks down the actual locations of some of Bruce Lee’s most iconic action movies. Many of these sites remain largely unchanged nearly half a century later. At monasteries, ice factories, and on urban streets, Little explores the real life settings of Lee’s legendary films. Tracking The Dragon builds upon Little’s previous film work on Lee, to present a comprehensive view of Lee’s cinematic art that will change the way you see his films. In such pivotal films as The Big Boss, Fist of Fury, The Way of the Dragon and Enter the Dragon, Lee staged the elaborately choreographed action sequences that revolutionized the martial arts field. They took on a mythic status and it is mindboggling to see how Lee expertly built traditional locations into his story lines to give them added dimension. |

VIDEO — 3.25/5, AUDIO — 3.0/5

Both the 16×9 enhanced widescreen video (1.78 aspect ratio) and included Dolby Digital 2.0 soundtrack are basic but effective enough. You can tell the production value is on the limited side yet still looks and sound just fine. |
OVERALL – 2.25/5 |
Overall, while John Little’s documentary probably could’ve used some better editing, perhaps from a more experienced traditional director, there’s no doubt the passion is there for Lee and as such, it makes for an intriguing viewing to see these exotic locales and get a history lesson for each location. |
