PLOT SYNOPSIS

I Could Go On Singing stars the legendary Judy Garland, in her last film, as an American singer who visits London and can’t resist the temptation to meet up once again with a lost love (DIRK BOGARDO) and the now teenaged son (GREGORY PHILLIPS) she left him to care for many years before.

SPECIAL FEATURES – 1.75/5

Audio Commentaries

  1. Producer Lawrence Turman and Film Historians Lem Dobbs and Nick Redman
  2. Film Historians David Del Valle and Steven Peros

Also included is a TV Spot and the Original Theatrical Trailers.

VIDEO – 4.25/5

Twilight Time releases I Could Go On Singing onto Blu-ray presented in its original 2.35 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer and it’s fairly impressive. Colors are vibrant throughout, detail is pretty sharp and outside of a few specs it’s relatively clean looking. Given the movie is going on 50+ years old, it tended to look far better than current releases…

AUDIO – 4.0/5

The disc has a DTS-HD Master Audio Mono track and for the most part, it is serviceable. It does get a bit heavy for the opening, topping out at times however outside of that, dialogue levels were crisp and clear and the variety of music showcased is fairly strong and even keeled. It’s not reference quality work but still more than sufficient all things considered.

OVERALL – 3.0/5

Overall, I Could Go On Singing features a strong performance from Judy Garland in her final film but beyond that, this character drama, with catchy music, is well done directed by Ronald Neame. The Blu-ray released by Twilight Time is limited with the features while the video and audio transfers are both well done.
