Navy Seals vs. Zombies is exactly as the title suggest with a bunch of soldiers going up against zombies. The make-up effects aren’t too bad and as a whole, it’s a fine time waster and quality-wise probably right up there with any number of those SyFy Original movies… take that for what you will.

PLOT SYNOPSIS
When the U.S. Government loses all contact with the Vice President (RICK FOX) during a campaign stop in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a battle-hardened SEAL team just back from Afghanistan is sent in. But they’ll soon discover that this is no ordinary tactical rescue: The city is under siege by hordes of fast moving, flesh eating undead. The infection is spreading. Urban warfare has been unleashed. With no cure in sight and time running out, can an elite unit of badass warriors now survive their most horrific mission of all?
SPECIAL FEATURES – 0/5
No features were included.
VIDEO – 3.75/5
Not too surprising, Navy Seals vs. Zombies being a direct-to-video flick and probably done on a limited budget using digital cameras, it’s not exactly the prettiest looking movie. The transfer is a tad too clean and looks cheap. Detail is at least decent enough while colors are (intentionally) drab in keeping with the apocalyptic-esque setting with the zombie epidemic. Having said that, it’s OK just nothing incredible.
AUDIO – 3.5/5
The movie comes with an adequate if not basic 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track. Dialogue levels are good while the track receives an extra boost courtesy of the occasional action scene as well as zombie chases and gunplay to take down the undead. As with the picture, this is a sufficient lossless track but nothing more.
OVERALL – 2.5/5
Overall, Navy Seals vs. Zombies is exactly as the title suggest with a bunch of soldiers going up against zombies. The make-up effects aren’t too bad and as a whole, it’s a fine time waster and quality-wise probably right up there with any number of those SyFy Original movies… take that for what you will. As for the Blu-ray, it’s also rather basic with no bonus material and so-so video and audio transfers.
