’71 is a well made and tight war thriller featuring a nice performance from Jack O’Connell who manages to carry the film fairly well. The DVD released by Lionsgate is basic but good enough providing for fine video/audio transfers and a decent selection of bonus material.

VIDEO – 4.0/5 | AUDIO – 3.75/5

’71 arrives on DVD through Lionsgate presented with a 2.40 anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio and has that gritty natural golden tint to the coloring. The video itself is alright showing no major signs of artifacts or other ailments.

The Dolby Digital 5.1 track is standard showing off decent dialogue levels and OK depth when we do get into the more action-centric scenes.

OVERALL – 3.0/5

Overall, ’71 is a well made and tight war thriller featuring a nice performance from Jack O’Connell who manages to carry the film fairly well. The DVD released by Lionsgate is basic but good enough providing for fine video/audio transfers and a decent selection of bonus material.
