Tinker Bell and the Legend of the NeverBeast is another solid entry into the series though both of these movies are more centered on Fawn than Tinkerbell herself. The story this go around is darker and could be scary for kids of a certain age and it’s not the most heartwarming finale yet with that I actually appreciate the movie even more for not taking the easy route. The Blu-ray released by Disney might not have great bonus material but the audio and video transfers are both solid.

Disney’s latest installment in the Tinker Bell Faries line, Secret of the Wings, is a nice little movie that the entire family can watch, though it is still geared towards younger children – and Disney fans of all ages. The Blu-ray set offers up solid audio/video transfers but falter in the features department.

Blood Work is what I would call a minor blip for Clint Eastwood. It’s not bad and has a few good scenes, not to mention Eastwood himself is as good as usual, but the story never gains momentum. Even so, it goes by quickly enough and the supporting cast are all fun to watch. As far as the Blu-ray is concerned, the audio and video are more than adequate (and upgrades over the DVD) while the features, albeit forgettable, are good to have.

The Big Year isn’t a bad film by any stretch but boy oh boy was it boring. I’m not much of a bird person and I think the filmmakers geared this more toward that crowd but for others, you might feel left out. Even so, it’s still disappointing given the cast they manage to gather together especially the three leads.

Material Girls has rightly been forgotten in the annals of time. It’s a film with no redeemable characters – despite the main characters making a transformation at the end – cardboard cutouts for the supporting cast and a story that’s uninteresting and predictable. I know some might pick this up when it’s on the Wal Mart shelf for $10 but unless you’re a huge fan of either of the Duffs and are easily amused, just pass it on by and spend your money more wisely.
