Get ready for some action that brings some of WWE\u2019s toughest, wildest Superstars to Bedrock! When Fred loses his family\u2019s vacation money, he hatches one of his harebrained plans to get it back. It\u2019s a sports entertainment spectacle that involves throwing Barney into the ring with the likes of John Conastone, Marble Henry and even The Undertaker, with Fred himself as event promoter. The crowds roar, the \u201cclams\u201d are pouring in from ticket sales and even Mr. McMagma is taking notice of all the hoopla. Can Fred keep serving up bigger and badder matches or is he in for the rocky side of his life?<\/p>\n

The Flintstones and WWE: Stone Age Smackdown<\/em><\/strong> is presented with a 1.78 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer. Like other recent animated releases, this one provides bright colors throughout and no obvious signs of aliasing or banding. It\u2019s not exactly a fantastic looking movie but still looks good for the style.

AUDIO \u2013 4.0\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track is fine if not limited. Dialogue levels do come through, primarily, the center channel well enough but when we get to the more in-depth scenes, like among crowds, it\u2019s not an entirely dynamic track though perfectly serviceable even if it won\u2019t wow you or push your surround system to its limit.<\/p>\n

OVERALL \u2013 3.0\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Overall, honestly, \u201cThe Flintstones\u201d has never been a favorite cartoon of mine so this new animated movie, while perfectly functional for kids, never quite did it for me from the comedy to all around entertainment standpoint. As with Scooby-Doo<\/em>, The Flintstones and WWE: Stone Age Smackdown<\/em><\/strong> is another way for the WWE to reach a new generation which is smart business but the end game for casual viewers is pretty weak, though again, not a fan of the original show anyway…<\/p>\n
