Quick Hit Review: <\/strong>I\u2019m a general fan of these Scooby-Doo<\/em> animated movies and rarely is there a bad one, Scooby-Doo: Music of the Vampire<\/em> being my least favorite of the latest crop, and now Scooby Doo: Moon Monster Madness<\/em><\/strong>, while having a few fun moments, was a bit disappointing and even a tad dull in spots. The voice casting, however, once again is great not only the return cast of Frank Welker, Grey Griffin, Mindy Cohn and Matthew Lillard but the film also features Malcolm McDowell as a Richard Branson-like self absorbed billionaire and even Mark Hamill as a former astronaut on the voyage.<\/p>\n

Scooby-Doo: Moon Monster Madness<\/em><\/strong> spacewalks onto DVD presented with a 1.78 aspect ratio anamorphic widescreen transfer and as one would expect, colors are vibrant and no major instances of aliasing or banding.<\/p>\n

The Dolby Digital 5.1 track provided is fine but nothing phenomenal. Dialogue comes through the center channel well enough but after that, the depth is limited where audio elements (like explosions) comes across as bland and hardly dynamic, even by lossy standards.<\/p>\n

Overall, Scooby-Doo! Moon Monster Madness<\/em><\/strong> isn\u2019t the strongest of the modern animated movie line but it still has some entertainment value and if you have kids, they\u2019ll probably eat every bit of it up. The animation itself isn\u2019t bad either and the voice casting once again is well done. The DVD released by Warner Home Video is pretty basic with good audio\/video transfers but limited bonus material.<\/p>\n
